PROFILE: Vale of Glamorgan
The Vale of Glamorgan is home to some of the wealthiest people in Wales, and is one of the top places to live in the UK (according to a Reader¹s Digest survey, published in May 2007).
Cowbridge, the market town at the heart of the Vale, (CF71) is, officially, the most exclusive postcode in Wales (according to a report compiled by Halifax and published in Feb Œ07).
Developments in the Vale are abundant, with the biggest being the proposed Defence Training Academy to be built at St Athan, between the village of Rhoose and the coastal town of Llantwit Major.
Barry and Penarth are closely situated, and are popular coastal towns. Barry is home to a new and evolving Waterfront development, both residential and commercial, while Penarth houses the famous pier and is about to see a massive transformation with the planned development of executive apartments overlooking the existing marina.
