Sustainable move for One Brighton

Sustainable move for One Brighton

Crest Nicholson and BioRegional Quintain are pleased to announce that, as part of the Section 106 agreement for the zero carbon development One Brighton, the first commercial leases have now been agreed. The Ethical Property Company will be underleasing 10,000 sq. ft. of space dedicated to being a community centre for the scheme and surrounding local area, and the Friends Centre, an adult education centre and registered charity, will be taking a 1,948 sq. ft unit.

One Brighton comprises 172 units for housing, alongside new public open space and seven commercial units. Following these first lease agreements, the developers now hope to attract other organisations to lease the remaining commercial space.

Pete Halsall, Managing Director, BioRegional Quintain Ltd., comments: “We are delighted that the community centre space has been leased to the Ethical Property Company, who has committed to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certification. The company’s clear investment initiative involves buying properties in order to develop them as centres for charities, social enterprises and community and campaign groups. This fits well alongside our One Planet Living principles and helps to add even more vibrancy to the development and contributes to the continued success of the scheme.”
